After entering the rainy season, many open-air and semi-open-air factories and logistics sites are prone to short-term heavy rainfall, road surface water accumulation, etc. Electric forklifts, as the core transfer equipment in the field, are prone to circuit short circuits, metal parts corrosion, brake sensitivity decline, etc., which not only affect the daily transfer efficiency, but also may bury unnecessary safety hazards.
In the use of the link, the first step is to standardize the operation behavior of wading water. When encountering water on the road during daily operations, the depth of water accumulation should be determined in advance. The water height exceeds two-thirds of the area of the wheel. Do not force driving. When driving through shallow water sections, stabilize the speed of the vehicle, maintain low speed and pass smoothly, and avoid sudden acceleration and sudden braking that cause water to splash into a large area of the body chassis and the electrical interface gap. When parking vehicles in non-operating conditions, avoid low-lying areas that are prone to water accumulation. Try to park the vehicle in a rain-shielded area with high terrain. If you need to park in the open air for a short time, you should also do a good job of covering and protecting the body console and battery compartment to avoid rainwater from directly seeping into the equipment.
Before starting the operation each time, it is necessary to do a good job of pre-inspection, check the charging interface and control buttons one by one for any traces of water ingress, moisture and fog, confirm that there is no abnormality, and then connect the power supply of the whole vehicle. At the same time, test the response sensitivity of braking, steering, and warning lights lightly. Once the response of the components is found to be sluggish, the operation should be suspended immediately to investigate the problem, and the equipment is strictly prohibited from "running with injuries".
At the level of daily maintenance, after the end of the daily operation, use a dry dust-free soft cloth to wipe the remaining rainwater stains on the exposed parts of the car body, and focus on cleaning the gaps in the battery compartment and the surrounding water and ash of the chassis connector to avoid the metal touchpoint corrosion caused by the long-term accumulation of moisture. If the vehicle is accidentally waded in water for a short time during the operation, do not force the equipment to start repeatedly. Transfer the vehicle to a ventilated and dry area for the first time and let it stand. After the surface water has completely evaporated, professional maintenance personnel will check the insulation performance of the circuit one by one to confirm that there is no hidden danger of leakage before putting it back into use.
During the rainy season operation and maintenance cycle, the frequency of vehicle insulation testing can also be appropriately increased, waterproof rubber rings that have aging and cracking problems can be checked and replaced in a timely manner, and moisture-proof reinforcement treatment can be done for wiring harness connectors. Ventilation and dehumidification work should also be done in the area where the equipment is stored for a long time to avoid the vehicle being continuously in a high-humidity environment to accelerate the aging of components. Doing a good job in the use and maintenance control of the whole process can effectively reduce the failure rate of electric forklifts in the rainy season and ensure the smooth and orderly development of on-site transfer operations.
